AHMA - AN INTERACTIVE STORY A PROJECT BY SHERYL SIM & TISYA WONG
A tree lives its entire life for others as a provider of all things necessary. When there's nothing left to give, the lonely, old, damaged tree lies infested and diseased β left forgotten and unwanted. AHMA draws parallels between a tree and a grandmother. AHMA brings you on a journey, revisiting a tree's memories before it was logged, welcoming you to remember its life through the seasons along with its interactions with nature's forces and with the animals in it.
The animals take on the ephemeral form of particles, only existing in the log's memory and ceasing to exist as it once did. The intimate moments between the tree and the animals place viewers in the position of the provider, taken for granted as animals come as quickly as they go, disappearing without a trace.
The installation is controlled by a log, which acts as a controller upon human contact. It allows the viewer to rotate 360ΒΊ on screen, exploring the forest from the tree's point of view and encounter different animal interactions as time passes by.
